Required Equipment:
Practice: Swim Suit, goggles, and a tennis ball (Senior & Age Group team)
Swim Meets: Team Suit (TYR, solid Black or Navy Blue) and Team Swimming Cap
Meet Schedule:
The meet schedule is created by Coach Anderson and shows the up-coming swimming meets that your swimmer may participate in. (Swimmers are encouraged to participate in meets, but they are not required) The coaching staff does all entries for swimming meets. The coaches will place swimmers in events that they would like to see them compete in. Swimmers that do not want to swim a particular event may be asked to do so anyway. Should they choose not to swim a particular event, they will be asked to leave the swimming meet and a conference will be set up with the swimmer and their parents.
Swimmers are encouraged to participate in swimming meets, but they are not required.
Swimming Meets:
There are different types of swimming meets and they are usually classified by the level of swimmer that is allowed to participate. Senior and Age Group swimmers will be invited to participate in swimming meets by the coaches via sign-up sheet in their mailbox. Developmental Team swimmers will be invited to participate in selected swimming meets at the coach’s discretion. Meet sign-up sheets will indicate the type of meet, cost, who can compete and what level they must be. The coaches will try to help with this process by not sending home sign-up sheets for which your swimmer is not qualified. Extra meet sign-up sheets will be available at the pool.
Please note:
· It is your responsibility to sign up for swimming meets.
· If your swimmer is absent for more than a week, they may miss out on bringing home a sign-up sheet and they will not have the opportunity to participate in that meet!
· Please make arrangements with the coach to sign up for a meet if your swimmer will be gone more than a week.
Parents are not allowed on deck at a swimming meet! It is against
Communications:
Mailboxes: Each swimmer will have a mailbox at the pool. Calendars, meet sign-ups, team fundraising information, etc will be sent home via your swimmer’s mailbox. Swimmers need to check their mailbox every time they attend practice and return the information to their parents or guardian. Please ask your swimmer if they checked their mailbox each time you see them following practices.
Email: We will be sending email blasts out to all families that we have an email address for. Please check your email regularly.
